The much-awaited 2020 Hyundai Creta has been launched in India at a starting price tag of INR 9.99 lakh. Hyundai the updated SUV with a BS6-compliant engine with a completely new design. The mid-size SUV was initially unveiled to the audience at Auto Expo 2020 and will be available to the customers with three engine options. The pre-bookings have already started at the dealerships with an advance amount of INR 25,000.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta now features a redesigned 3D cascading chrome grille while the headlight setup has also been revised and is now a triple beam LED setup which is a bit larger when compared to the last-gen Creta. The split LED DRLs are new and are inspired by the Hyundai Palisade which gives a character to the SUV.
In the front, the bumper is styled a bit differently from the last-gen model. Creta now gets 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels offered on the top-end trim. Hyundai has equipped with new split type headlights which also resemble the tail lamps design. Creta not gets intelligent interior lighting and LED puddle lamps.
Talking about the interiors, the 2020 Hyundai Creta gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in addition to getting premium leather upholstery, 8-way powered driver seat, automatic air purifiers, ventilated seat setup and more. It also gets a 7.0-inch coloured TFT instrument console, an audio system from Bose and plenty other connectivity features.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta is 4300mm long, 1790mm wide and 1635mm tall. The wheelbase of the SUV is 2610mm. There are five trims namely E, EX, S, SX, and SX (O).
New Creta has been launched with three engine options namely 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre VGT diesel and the 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol. The 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines are capable of offering maximum power of 115HP while the torque output stands at 144Nm and 250Nm respectively.
The turbo petrol engine churns out 140Bhp and 242Nm of peak torque. The engines have been mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the customers can opt for 1.5L diesel engine with an optional torque converter automatic gearbox, an IVT gearbox for 1.5L petrol engine and an optional 7-speed DCT gearbox for the turbo petrol engine.
